Sunday Times

A year on from our feature in the Financial Times, Applegate have featured in the National Press once again – this time in a Sunday Times piece penned by Peter Evans. It’s just another day of the office here at Applegate. Both pieces focussed largely on the Apprenticeship scheme at Applegate – with 9 staff members enrolled in the programme and counting. Our pioneering work has seen us in these publications, as well as visiting events in Parliament and beyond. We’re clear on our commitment to retaining talent in the South West, and particularly in Northern Devon.

Parliament Visit (…again!)

We were very pleased to be invited back to Parliament for the annual Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship event, hosted by the Chartered Management Institute of which Stuart Brocklehurst (Chief Executive of Applegate) is a Companion. Stuart attended the event with HR Executive Joanna Nancekivell, who is enrolled on the Degree Apprenticeship programme here at Applegate, who were both invited to speak to the audience filled with MPs, Policy Makers, Journalists and alike. We have a fantastic relationship with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), who made a visit to North Devon to film with us, given our pioneering approach to apprenticeships. You’ll find CMI articles online featuring our colleague Jack Richards (found here), as well as events at which our Chief Executive has been invited to speak.

Top Tech Business

We’re pleased to feature in a list of the top South West tech businesses, published by Devon Live last month. We’re working with the University of Exeter on developing Artificial Intelligence systems that match buyers with suppliers in a way that traditional technologies cannot – dedicated to achieving the best possible service delivery when matching suppliers to buyer enquiries via our cloud-based procurement system. We really are committed to providing the best possible service for buyers and suppliers.

So, there you are – just a few things we have been up to in 2020 so far. We’re keeping busy, working hard to make 2020 the best year yet for us and our partners. You can keep up-to-date with our latest activity on LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook.
